Years ago, I sat alone on a seat in the waiting hall of Jinan Railway Station. I had to wait for two hours to catch the train to Yangzhou and there was no one around me.

几年前，我一个人坐在济南站候车厅的座位上，周围一个人也没有，而且还要等两个小时才能登上去扬州的火车。

Just then, I saw two monks come to the waiting area and sat not far from me.I suddenly felt like talking to them，so I went and sat near them.

就在那时，两个僧侣来到候车区，坐在离我不远的地方。我突然想和他们说话，所以便走过去坐在他们旁边。

“Excuse me, could I have a chat with you? Because I am so bored that I want a chance to have a free talk.”

“打扰一下，我能和你聊聊吗？因为太无聊了，我想和你们聊一会儿。”

“No problem,”said one of them. “We come from Guangdong and are going to Heilongjiang.”

“没问题，”其中一个说。“我们来自广东，要去黑龙江。”

“I’m a local person and I’m going to Yangzhou.”I replied. “It’s the first time I’ve talked to a monk, and I’m curious about your life in temple. Will I be the one lucky enough to know it? Do you have to read bibles everyday? ”

“我是本地人，我要去扬州。”我回答道，“这是我第一次和你们僧人交谈，我对你们寺庙里的生活很好奇。您能介绍一下吗？你们每天都要读经书吗？”

“No,” he said. “Our life is not like what you see on TV. We don’t have to do it everyday. We have TV every night and also we have our own smartphones and computers.”

“不，”他说，“我们的生活不像你在电视上看到的那样每天念经。我们每晚都能电视，而且也有自己的智能手机和电脑。”

“Wow, you really have a good life.” I praised. “And you mustn’t have a drink.”

“哇，你们真幸福。”我很羡慕，“你们一定不能喝酒。”

“Oh, why do you say that?” he surprised. “It’s not a matter. We can also get married if we want.”

“哦，你为什么这么说？”他很惊讶，“那都不是事。如果想结婚，我们也可以结婚。”

Then they told me how happy they are and how good their life is. And in the end, one of them asked me suddenly, “Would you like to follow me to be a monk?”

然后他们告诉我他们有多幸福，生活有多美好。最后，其中一个人突然问我：“你愿意跟我们一起出家吗？”

I got a fright and run away as quickly as I could. I almost became a monk myself.

我吓了一跳，赶紧逃走了。我自己差点成了一名僧人。
